According to Bild, 74-year-old Louis van Gaal is ready to take over the Dutch national team when contacted by the Dutch Football Association. This would be his fourth time as head coach of the Dutch national team.

The report also stated that Van Gaal is in better physical condition than ever before, and health issues are a thing of the past. He publicly announced his prostate cancer diagnosis in April 2022 and stepped down after the 2022 World Cup to focus on recovery. Now, the 74-year-old coach seems poised to return to coaching. As the national team coach, he won't need to be on the training ground every day, only working during international match days and the potential European Championship.
This Champions League winner hasn't really been idle in recent years, and until recently he was still serving as an advisor at Ajax.
Van Gaal's advantage lies in his familiarity with most of the team's players. He led the Netherlands to the quarterfinals of the 2022 Qatar World Cup, ultimately losing 5-6 on penalties to eventual champions Argentina. Van Gaal previously coached the Netherlands from 2012 to 2014 and again from 2000 to 2001. Perhaps on his fourth attempt, he can finally lead the team to victory. Van Gaal is ready.
