Aston Villa may miss their most expensive summer signing in their match against Paris Saint-Germain. According to The Athletic, Manzanbi suffered a knee injury before the World Cup round of 16 match against Colombia (0-0, 4-3 on penalties) and is expected to miss the UEFA Super Cup match on Wednesday, August 12th at Red Bull Salzburg's home ground.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder delivered an impressive performance in his World Cup debut, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists. He subsequently joined Aston Villa from Freiburg for €60 million and is currently undergoing rehabilitation in Spain under the guidance of specialist Joldan Mendigocha. Although Birmingham has not yet given a definite return date, the young Swiss player is expected to be out for several more weeks.
Aston Villa will play a friendly against Bayern Munich this Friday, which will be their last friendly before facing Paris Saint-Germain. The English team will have to play without their record signing, who will be unavailable for at least the start of the new Premier League season.
